This lot specifically comes from our exporting partners Pergamino in Colombia who have worked with coffee producers for the past 30 years to export high quality coffee throughout the world. Specifically, this lot comes from the Municipality of La Plata, Vereda San Francisco in Huila. This area is divided into two sectors: Alto San Francisco and Bajo San Francisco. 80% of the producers contributing cherries to this lot are in Alto San Francisco. This vereda is along the same road that leads to Inza, Cauca.

The area is quite high, and can make accessing the farms here quite difficult, requiring specific motorbikes, producers typically use old Honda XR175s. Pergamino also initiated a Chiroso nursery project here, to begin growing higher quality varietals in this area, improving income for producers, which will help develop the communities. These nurseries will carefully begin to grow Chiroso varietals to be distributed to the producers here.
